phal apna kade rukh nahin khanda hunda ey sansaar layi;

A tree does never eat its fruit, it is meant for the world;
A river does not drink its water, it flows for the benefit of others; Millions of lovers do suffer for the sake of the love of the one who loves them; Avtar says, the saints appear only to redeem people of the world. |
Meaning
Saints have come in this world only to make it a better place. This world is full of ego and hatred. Saints have come here to spread the love and make the world a place where there is no ego and people are caring and living for each other. Just like a tree has so many fruits within itself but it never eats its own fruit and it is ate by the whole world, or a river does not drink its own water, it always flows for the benefit of others and satisfies the thirst of the whole world. Millions of lovers do suffer a lot for the sake of the love of the one who loves them unconditionally. Baba Avtar Singh says that, in the similar way Saints too have come into the world for the benefit of the others and to redeem the people of this world.
